College to University Transfer question....?

Ok, I'm currently at SENECA COLLEGE taking the (ACC) Accounting program. However I feel that this will not take me far; its a diploma, so i decided that i will transfer to university.

How could i do this, what is the process, Has any body done this before; transferring from college to university, What were the requirements.

ALSO, what if i did really good in my college diploma program and wished to transfer to another program in a UNIVERSITY. Is it even possible? say from accounting to life science.

tnkx|||Okay...Maybe you mean Community College...Because there really is no difference between a college and a university.

However, this is an easy process. You go to the school's website. The one you wish to transfer to. And you apply as a transfer. Not as a freshman. It's basically self-explanatory. And you'll need to send your transcript etc.|||In the US it is quite common to transfer after your first two years at a community college to a University, it's what I did because it was cheaper. You need to start researching the universities that you are interested in early because each will have different requirements. Most will have websites with information about admission as a Junior: applications to fill out, gpa requirements, etc. Transferring tends to be a little bit easier because there is always a lot of freshmen applicants and fewer transfer applicants.

The second part of your question is a bit more confusing. I don't know how it's done in Canada but usually the first two years are all about fulfilling general requirements (every takes math, science, arts, English, etc) and the last two years is where you major in something. But because it sounds like you're already majoring in something you might have to fulfill some other requirements before working on your major. Again, start doing research on the Universities that you are interested to figure out these kinds of things. You could also ask your counselor/advisor at school for information. They will be well aware of what requirements you'll need to transfer and can steer you in the right direction.

Good luck!
